Reflections of the journey

IMG_1017.JPG

As an event team leader, I noticed a usually energetic teammate go unusually quiet. With deadlines looming, I chose empathy over pressure. We stepped outside, and he opened up about feeling like he was letting the team down. I didn’t fix things for him; instead, I listened. We reshuffled tasks, gave him space, and showed that he wasn’t alone. FLPC taught me that leadership isn’t just about steering the ship, but knowing when to pause for those who need it. Empathy is what keeps us moving forward together.

During one event, I saw my team under pressure and felt the weight of deadlines myself. But FLPC helped me pause, stay self-aware, and manage my emotions before reacting. Instead of letting frustration take over, I practiced empathy, listening to teammates, reshuffling tasks, and creating space for open dialogue. Because of what I learned at FLPC, I could lead with care, build trust, and keep our team grounded and motivated.

At FLPC, I learned to lead with emotional clarity, even in unexpected situations. A recent incident taught me that when someone acts out, there’s often a deeper reason behind it. FLPC helped me respond with empathy instead of reacting impulsively. I realized that conflicts are inevitable, but how we handle them is our choice. Thanks to the emotional intelligence I developed at FLPC, I stayed calm, chose kindness over conflict, and found peace with everyone involved. That pause made all the difference.
